THE HAND SONG

THE MUSIC TO THIS SONG IS IN REALAUDIO
FORMAT
MUSIC & LYRICS BY REUVEN A. STONE
Oh I've got 5 fingers,
5 on each hand,
And they help me with the mitzvos that I do,
I find it grand that when Hashem created man,
He gave him a hand (or 2!)
Now you may ask for what mitzvos you need a hand,
Now think about it 1-2-3-4-5
May I expand upon this thought and then you'll see,
Why you need a hand (or 2!)
When you wake up in the morning,
And you find you're contemplating
The negelvaser cup,
That has been there all night waiting,
Pour 3 on the right and 3 on the left,
That's one command where you use your hand (That's true!)
On every door I go through, there's a little friend,
Protecting me and keeping me from harm,
I place my hand on the mezuzah with a kiss,
now how about this.
My hand lights the menorah and,
Who holds my siddur? - It's my hand!
Who shakes the lulov all around,
And spins my grogger making sounds,
Who places the kipah on my head,
That's 5 commands where you use your hand (Absolutely true!)
And when I visit a sick friend, lying in bed,
Who props the pillows up when he is down,
Who claps and snaps,
And gives a Yaar Shekoiach shake? (My hand?)
You're doing great!
A hand can give tzedaka,
And give charity to others,
Who holds the fork so patiently,
As you say a bracha?
Who lifts the Torah to the air,
That's 6 commands,
Where you use your hand (or two!)
