Once upon a time three Princes
Sailed across the sea.
In search of a most precious gift
To set before the King.
A precious gift?
What could it be?
Maybe a green lolypop.
Or a fuzzy teddy bear.
Or maybe a giant pizza pie --
-Hold it! Hold it, fellas! I'm getting there!
The first son filled a chest with
riches,
Diamonds, silks and pearls.
The second filled a trove with precious
Jewels and gold and furs.
But the third son searched and observed all he found.
And he thought to himself there's more to behold
Truth be told,
What's more valuable than gems or gold?
How can I choose?
How can I choose?
How can I choose when every single thing I see,
Seems as though it was made just for me.
At a grand parade,
To celebrate the return of those three Princes.
Crowds oohed and sighed as the wagons rolled by,
Displaying each one's riches.
But the crowds turned away as the third walked alone,
And he placed a tiny bag before the King's throne.
Hashem, my King,
I've seen wonderful things,
Throughout my many travels.
And each sight was a clue, till at last I knew,
That the riddle was unraveled.
For every sight and every sound
And every scent, all I feel.
Was placed there as a gift,
But was that gift meant for me.
If it's true,
then there's only one gift left for you.
Thank you Hashem,
Thank you Hashem,
Thank you Hashem for all the gifts you give to me.
For all the wonders of this world,
the miracles that you do,
Thank you is my special gift to you.
I've seen leaves in the trees sing
a song in the breeze,
I've seen antelopes leap through the meadows.
I've seen birds that fly high like silhouettes in the sky,
As the sun goes down.
Have you ever set sail on the tail of a whale,
Felt the salty sea air so inviting.
My Neshama's alive when I think of this gift,
And the world's filled with treasures
We've yet to behold.
Oh, now I understand!
Understand what?
He didn't give him anything!
That's where you're wrong.
The third son gave the greatest gift of all.
He learned to appreciate all the good things
that the King had made for him to enjoy!
That's right!
And we, too have to thank Hashem
for all the wonderful gifts He gives us each day.
Like a plate of french fries
And a big pizza pie,
And ice cream and cookies and lollypops.
And the dreams in my head as I lay in my bed,
As the sun goes down.
Have you ever set sail on the tail
of a whale,
Felt the salty sea air so inviting.
My Neshama's alive when I think of this gift,
And the world's filled with treasures
We've yet to behold.
Oh,oh,oh,
Thank you Hashem,
Thank you Hashem,
Thank you Hashem for all the gifts you give to me.
For all the wonders of this world,
the miracles you do.
Thank you is my special gift to you.
