Help With RealAudio
What is RealAudio?
RealAudio is a program that work in conjunction with your web browser
allowing real-time audio capabilities. Normally, if you want to hear
a sound file, you must download the file (which is usually huge) and
then use a program to listen to the sound file. With RealAudio, you
can listen to the file by just clicking on the link. The RealAudio program
automatically will run and you can listen to the file within seconds.
This is called streaming audio. At the same time, you may still continue
browsing the Torahtots website without interrupting the music.
What do I need to play RealAudio sound
clips?
To listen to
RealAudio sound clips, you'll need:
1. A PC with
a sound card or a Macintosh.
2. The most
current version of the RealAudio Player.
3. An Internet
connection of at least 14.4 Kbps. We recommend a 28.8 modem or faster
to get the best sound quality.
3. A Web browser
capable of handling "helper apps.," also known as "plug-ins." Netscape
Navigator/Communicator* and Microsoft Internet Explorer*
are ideal. The RealAudio Player works from within your Web browser to
help you listen to streaming audio.
How do I get RealAudio?
Visit the
Download Page on RealAudio's web site and download the Real player
software for your system. RealNetworks offers a free
basic player, and a commercial full featured version. The free player
works fine with all our music. Follow the download and install instructions
on the RealNetworks download page.
F.A.Q. - Frequently Asked
Questions
1) Q: "When
I am listening to the music, the audio is garbled and/or breaks up?"
A: Try re-connecting
to your ISP to get a better connect rate. There might be congestion
on the line. Sometimes the connection between your ISP and the audio
server is just slow. You may have to try again at a later time.
2) Q: "The
volume is really low and I can't hear the music?"
A: On Windows 98/95 -
Click on the Speaker Icon in your System Tray (usually on the bottom
right of your desktop next to the clock) and adjust the volume.
Turn up the master and WAV volume and make sure neither one are on mute.
Also if your speakers have separate volume controls, adjust the volume
on your speakers.
